50 Year Anniversary Cross Border Flight Lyncrest - Piney/Pine Creek - Baudette (To be Confirmed) - Dunseth/Int'l Peace Gardens 2015

Canadian and American Pilots meet for Cross Border Flight - 50th Anniversary.

Route: - Meet anywhere along the route
Winnipeg to Piney/Pine Creek - Baudette BDE (to be confirmed) - Dunseth/Int'l Peace Gardens - back to Winnipeg May 24th or June 14th (logistcs/rain date)

May 21st we will confirm whether or not we want to fly eastward to Baudette after clearing customs or head west word to Dunseth International Peace Gardens for lunch on May 24th --- Note: Our Logistics and/or Rain Date is June 14th
  • We are planning for May 24th and have June 14th for our Logistics/Rain Date – Logistics ie someone still waiting for their Decal/Rain date if wx is lousy
  •  USA Pilots who don’t have USA Passports or USA Decals can till participate by taxing to the USA ramp instead of the Canadian ramp as both Piney/Pine creek and Dunseth/Int’l Peace Gardens straddle the border so you don’t actually have to clear Customs if you stay on USA side of the border. Canadian Pilots will have to clear customs as we are going to also land at Baudette BDE
A group of Canadian pilots have:

  1.  received (or just ordered them) the USA Decals needed for our aircraft
  2.  plan on attending a workshop the RAA + MB 99s Int’l Women Pilots Org is offering on May 21st at 7:00 - 8:00 pm at Lyncrest Flight Centre, Lyncrest Airport, Manitoba,
  3. Workshop will demonstrate how to file E-Apis and tips on USA Flight Following n USA Flight Plan Filing (Canada call 1-866- WX-BRIEF and USA 1-800-WX-BRIEF)
  4.  have our Canadian Passports onboard so we don’t forget them
  5.  have a transponder, or requested the waiver and will carry the waiver letter instead if we don’t have transponder (eg my Pietenpol)

Let me know if this is something you and the clubs you are associated might be interested in participating in and passing on to other aviators in your area - email jill.oakes@umanitoba.ca
